Flights are the core way to collaborate with a group on Balloonr. A flight is a set of questions, with 2 timed stages.
Creating a Flight
From the main Flights screen, any team member with standard or admin access can create a flight by clicking on the 'start a flight' button at the top-right of the app's screen.
Balloonr will then get the necessary information to start your flight, including:
- A name and description for the flight
- At least one question, prompt, or topic. This the information you are seeking from the group!
- The group you would like to invite to the flight
- The timing for each of the two stages
Users must already be a member of the team in order for you to add them to the flight.
By default, all flights are posted anonymously; your name as the flight author will not be shown. However, if you'd like the flight to include your name as the author, checking the radio button 'Show my name as author' will remove anonymity. Regardless of your selection here, everyone's participation -- including yours -- throughout the rest of the flight remains anonymous!
After your information is entered, you'll be able to review the flight. If everything looks good, click on the ‘set flight’ button to submit it. When Stage 1 begins, each invited participant will receive an email notification stating that they’ve been invited to your flight. They’ll also receive an email notification when the flight enters Stage 2, and when it ends.
